An Abu Dhabi-based technology startup, CentaureAI, has introduced a powerful new artificial intelligence platform designed to transform traditional surveillance systems into advanced real-time intelligence networks.

The innovative platform was unveiled during the Make it in the Emirates 2026 exhibition after completing successful early-stage deployments. Developed using deep-tech research from the Technology Innovation Institute under the Advanced Technology Research Council, the system aims to redefine how organisations monitor and respond to security situations.

From Passive Surveillance to Active Intelligence

Unlike conventional CCTV systems that mainly store footage for later review, CentaureAI’s platform analyses live video feeds and sensor data instantly. The AI-powered system can identify objects, recognise suspicious activities, monitor crowd movement and detect behavioural patterns in real time.

The technology also prioritises critical alerts, helping security teams and operators make faster decisions in high-pressure environments where every second matters.

This real-time intelligence capability is expected to improve safety and operational efficiency across sectors including smart cities, airports, transport hubs, energy facilities and other critical infrastructure.

Works with Existing Infrastructure

One of the major advantages of the platform is its ability to integrate with already installed systems. It is compatible with CCTV networks, IP cameras, IoT devices and access control systems, allowing organisations to upgrade their surveillance capabilities without replacing expensive hardware.

This reduces implementation costs and makes the technology more accessible for both government agencies and private companies.

Smarter Incident Management

The platform also introduces automated workflows that can manage incident escalation, generate notifications and maintain event logs automatically.

Instead of overwhelming operators with hours of raw footage, the system intelligently filters and highlights important incidents, reducing the chances of missing critical warning signs.

Future Plans Include Advanced Threat Detection

As part of its future expansion plans, CentaureAI is developing a new terahertz sensor technology called TeraSentrix. The sensor is designed to detect concealed metallic and non-metallic threats and will integrate directly with the AI platform to deliver more accurate high-confidence alerts.

CentaureAI is the second startup to emerge from the Technology Innovation Institute ecosystem during the event, following the launch of TACTICA AI, a multi-domain decision-support platform.

Abu Dhabi Expanding Its Technology Ecosystem

The launch highlights Abu Dhabi’s growing focus on commercialising advanced technologies and strengthening its position in global innovation.

Through its venture-building arm VentureOne, established in 2020, the Advanced Technology Research Council has been supporting the development of research-driven companies and bringing innovative solutions to market.

Its expanding portfolio now includes firms such as AI71, QuantumGate, SteerAI and Nabat, showcasing Abu Dhabi’s growing footprint in emerging technologies.

With CentaureAI and TACTICA AI now entering live deployment phases, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign technology initiatives are increasingly moving beyond research labs and into practical real-world applications across multiple industries.
