Oura has officially unveiled the Oura Ring 5, introducing what the company describes as the world’s smallest smart ring. The latest generation device arrives with a more compact design, enhanced health-monitoring capabilities, and new features focused on cardiovascular, metabolic, and women’s health tracking.

While the ring is physically smaller than its predecessor, Oura has also expanded its health analytics platform, positioning the device as a more proactive wellness companion rather than a simple fitness tracker.

UAE pricing and availability

Oura has kept pricing unchanged from the previous generation.

In the UAE, the Oura Ring 5 is available in the following finishes:

  • Silver and Black: Dh1,599
  • Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose: Dh1,999

The company’s subscription model remains in place for access to advanced health insights.

Membership pricing is:

  • Dh29.99 per month
  • Dh269 per year

Without a subscription, users can still access basic health and activity data, while premium features remain locked behind the membership plan.

Pre-orders opened on June 1, 2026, with shipping and retail availability beginning on June 4, 2026.

Smaller and more refined than the previous generation

One of the biggest upgrades is the physical redesign.

According to Oura, the Ring 5 is approximately 40 per cent smaller than the previous Oura Ring 4, featuring a slimmer profile and smoother interior design.

The new model also introduces:

  • Twelve optimised signal pathways
  • Enhanced sensor architecture
  • Improved real-time activity tracking

Despite the redesign, battery performance remains similar to the previous generation, offering up to one week of usage on a single charge.

Oura continues to emphasise the advantages of finger-based health monitoring, noting that the finger provides stronger pulse signals than wrist-based wearables, which can improve measurement accuracy.

New cardiovascular monitoring tools

A major addition to the Oura Ring 5 is Health Radar, a feature designed to monitor long-term cardiovascular trends.

Developed with input from medical researchers, the system tracks:

  • Night-time blood pressure indicators
  • Respiratory patterns over a 30-day period

The feature aims to identify subtle changes that may indicate cardiovascular strain or stress, particularly during sleep when external influences are reduced.

Metabolic tracking for GLP-1 users

Oura is also expanding its health platform with new metabolic tracking tools aimed at users taking GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Mounjaro.

Launching in the UAE from June 4, 2026, the feature combines:

  • Medication tracking
  • Dosage management
  • Side-effect monitoring
  • Weight tracking
  • Biometric insights

The information is integrated with existing sleep, stress, and readiness metrics to provide a broader picture of overall health and wellness.

Expanded women’s health features

The Oura Ring 5 also introduces additional tools focused on women’s health.

New features include:

  • Menopause insights linked to sleep and mood changes
  • Enhanced hormonal birth control tracking
  • Improved cycle monitoring across different contraceptive methods

The updates are designed to provide more personalised health insights throughout different life stages.

Is it worth upgrading?

For users who found earlier smart rings bulky, the slimmer design may be one of the strongest reasons to upgrade, particularly for all-day wear.

However, existing Oura Ring 4 owners who primarily use the device for sleep monitoring and basic activity tracking may find less urgency to switch, as many software improvements are expected to remain available on older models.

With its smaller design and growing health-focused feature set, the Oura Ring 5 highlights the continued evolution of smart rings as an alternative to traditional smartwatches and fitness trackers.
