Unni Mukundan has added a major international milestone to his career by lending his voice to the iconic character He-Man in the Malayalam version of Masters of the Universe, produced by Sony Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).

With the project, Unni Mukundan also becomes the first Malayalam actor to collaborate with major Hollywood studios like Sony Pictures and MGM for a global fantasy franchise.

Sharing his excitement on social media, the actor described the experience as emotional and surreal. He said He-Man was more than just a cartoon character from his childhood, calling the superhero a symbol of courage, strength and heroism that remained close to him since the 1990s.

Gold 101.3FM UAE’s No.1 radio station continues to bring the latest entertainment and cinema updates to Malayali listeners across the UAE and Gulf region.

Unni revealed that dubbing the legendary dialogue, “By the Power of Grayskull… I Have The Power!”, brought back a wave of childhood memories and made the entire process deeply personal.

The actor also shared that while watching portions of the film during dubbing sessions, he briefly forgot his identity as an actor and felt like a child again, reliving memories of watching the animated hero during his younger days.

Originally introduced through Mattel’s toy line and later made globally popular through the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, the character of He-Man has remained one of pop culture’s most recognisable fantasy heroes for decades.

The story follows Prince Adam of Eternia, who transforms into the powerful He-Man using the Sword of Power to protect Castle Grayskull and defend the universe against the villain Skeletor.

Even after several decades, the franchise continues to attract audiences worldwide through animation, comics and live-action adaptations, with the new film expected to introduce the legendary hero to a new generation of viewers.
