The makers of Unmadam, bringing Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose together on screen for the first time, have officially announced that the film will hit theatres on July 31. Alongside the release date, the team also unveiled a new poster featuring Kunchacko Boban’s character Shelly, shown standing amid towering stacks of files inside a police station, hinting at the mystery-driven narrative at the core of the film.

Produced by Panorama Studios, Unmadam marks the banner’s third Malayalam production. The film also serves as the directorial debut of acclaimed editor Kiran Das, who has been one of Malayalam cinema’s most respected film editors.
The story follows a police constable dealing with personal turmoil while reopening a decades-old unsolved case believed to have supernatural undertones. As the investigation unfolds, the case reportedly leads him into a series of disturbing and layered revelations.
The film reunites National Award-winning writer Shahi Kabir with Kunchacko Boban after their earlier collaboration on Officer on Duty. The ensemble cast includes Siddique, Sudheesh, Vishak Nair, Sabu Mon, Kottayam Nazeer, Jijoy Rajagopal, Gokulan, Arun Cherukavil, Unni Lalu, Shaju Sreedhar, Krishnaprabha, Kiran Peethambaran, Vishnu, Reyna Radhakrishnan, Sijoy Varghese, and Vighneshwar Suresh. The film is jointly presented by T-Series and Panorama Studios.
Kiran Das, a Kerala State Award-winning editor for Ishq, has previously worked on acclaimed films such as Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Joji, Moothon, Romancham, Rorschach, Joseph, and Ela Veezha Poonchira. His transition to direction has made Unmadam one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases of the year, with strong industry attention on his debut as a filmmaker.
