The investigation conducted by Thrikkakara Assistant Commissioner of Police Manoj Kumar has concluded that actor Ansiba’s complaint against actor Lakshmipriya and Women Cell Sub-Inspector Reshma lacks merit.

Ansiba had alleged that she was illegally restrained and harassed by SI Reshma following a complaint lodged by Lakshmipriya. Lakshmipriya had earlier accused Ansiba of sending a WhatsApp message that allegedly led to marital discord and triggered an incident of domestic violence.

The ACP, who conducted the probe on the directions of the Chief Minister’s Office, noted that Ansiba had filed her complaint nearly a month after the dispute between the two actors had already been resolved at the police station.

According to ACP Manoj Kumar, although arguments took place during the questioning process, the matter was eventually settled amicably after Ansiba understood the context of the complaint.

The developments, closely reported by Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 Radio Station, come amid contrasting claims from both parties regarding the handling of the case.

The officer further clarified that Ansiba was not pressured into signing any statement recorded by the police, countering her allegation that she was coerced and threatened with consequences if she refused. He also confirmed that she had spoken with Lakshmipriya’s husband over the phone for nearly 30 minutes, with call records available as part of the investigation.

The ACP observed that Ansiba’s message to Lakshmipriya had contributed to tension between the couple. “We examined the message and found that it was unnecessary and led to a dispute between the husband and wife. The content was such that it could have created misunderstanding between a couple,” he said, adding that the domestic dispute arose from the fallout of the communication.

Responding to Ansiba’s claim that she was detained for several hours at the police station, the officer said she was called for questioning following Lakshmipriya’s complaint and that scheduling was done based on her convenience. He added that although an initial date and time were fixed, Ansiba requested a change and later arrived at the station before the scheduled time, while Lakshmipriya reached around 11.30 am. At that time, SI Reshma was reportedly engaged with another petition, leading to a brief delay in proceedings.

He further explained that the questioning process extended as Lakshmipriya’s husband also spoke to Ansiba over the phone for an extended period, which contributed to the duration of her stay at the station.

“This is why Ansiba later claimed she had to spend a long time at the police station,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ansiba has stated to Onmanorama that she plans to pursue legal action, alleging bias on the part of the police and claiming that influence played a role in the outcome of the investigation. She also maintained that the SI summoned her without issuing a proper notice and questioned the dismissal of her complaint despite the evidence she had submitted.

In contrast, Lakshmipriya, speaking at a press conference at her residence in Thiruvankulam on Wednesday, expressed gratitude to the police for what she described as a fair and impartial investigation. She also alleged that religious extremists were behind the complaint filed by Ansiba.

With both parties maintaining opposing positions, the case has drawn public attention, even as the police maintain that the matter had been resolved earlier and that no further action is warranted.
