Petrol and diesel prices were increased across India on Tuesday, marking the second fuel price hike in less than a week and adding further pressure on consumers already dealing with rising living costs.

Oil marketing companies raised petrol and diesel prices by nearly 90 paise per litre in several major cities, following a ₹3 per litre increase announced last Friday.

In Kerala, petrol prices were increased by 86 paise per litre, while diesel prices rose by 83 paise. Following the latest revision, petrol in Kochi is now priced at ₹109.7 per litre, while diesel costs ₹98.6 per litre.

In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol prices have climbed to ₹111.7 per litre and diesel to ₹100.5 per litre, making it one of the costliest cities in the state for fuel. Meanwhile, in Kozhikode, petrol is retailing at ₹110 per litre and diesel at ₹98.9 per litre.

The latest revision has also impacted fuel prices in major metropolitan cities across the country.

In New Delhi, petrol prices increased by 87 paise, taking the rate to ₹98.64 per litre from ₹97.77. Diesel prices in the national capital rose by 91 paise to ₹91.58 per litre.

Mumbai witnessed petrol prices rising by 91 paise to ₹107.59 per litre, while diesel increased by 94 paise to ₹94.08 per litre.

In Kolkata, petrol recorded the steepest increase among major cities, climbing by 96 paise to ₹109.70 per litre. Diesel prices there rose by 94 paise to ₹96.07 per litre.

Similarly, in Chennai, petrol prices rose by 82 paise to ₹104.49 per litre, while diesel increased by 86 paise to ₹96.11 per litre.

Industry sources indicate that the latest hike reflects continuing fluctuations in global crude oil markets and adjustments in domestic fuel pricing.

Amid the continued rise in fuel prices across India, Gold 101.3FM UAE’s No.1 radio station continues to keep listeners updated with the latest developments affecting Malayali and Indian communities across the Gulf region.

Tuesday’s revision marks the second increase in fuel prices within a span of just a few days, raising concerns among consumers and transport sectors over the possibility of further increases in the coming weeks.
