A fire broke out at the Taluk Hospital in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur, at around 5 pm on Monday, triggering a swift emergency response and the precautionary evacuation of patients from the affected area.

Hospital authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported and that all patients and staff members remained safe throughout the incident.

According to officials, the fire originated from a switchboard located in the corridor of the emergency department, which connects to the building on the right side of the hospital’s second floor.

Hospital staff acted quickly to contain the blaze using fire extinguishers before it could spread to other sections of the facility, helping to prevent major damage.

As reported on Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 Radio Station, personnel from the Kunnamkulam Fire and Rescue Services immediately rushed to the hospital and assisted in bringing the situation under control.

Preliminary assessments suggest that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. Authorities are continuing to examine the incident and assess any damage caused to the affected area.

The fire led to a temporary power outage within the hospital, creating panic among patients and their attendants. As a safety measure, hospital authorities promptly evacuated patients from the affected section and shifted them to secure areas.

Thanks to the quick response of hospital staff and firefighters, the fire was contained before it could escalate into a major emergency, ensuring the safety of everyone inside the hospital.
