Actor Maala Parvathi has called on the leadership of AMMA to resign, holding its office-bearers morally responsible for the ongoing internal disputes within the association.
In an open letter shared via email and social media, Maala expressed concern that reports of infighting and conflicts among members are damaging the organisation’s reputation and public goodwill. She said that while AMMA had previously faced criticism, including over its handling of the actress assault case, the current controversy directly concerns the functioning of the governing body and has significantly affected its credibility.
As reported on Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 Radio Station, Maala alleged that the leadership failed to ensure transparency and accountability, allowing internal disputes to spill into the public domain.
She questioned the committee’s handling of allegations raised by Lakshmipriya against Neena Kurup, claiming timely action was not taken. She also raised concerns over the dismissal of former office manager Athulya and allegations involving a security employee, stating that proper inquiries and legal procedures should have been initiated.
The actor further criticised reports that the office manager was asked to pay an electricity bill from her salary and alleged that administrative staff were given responsibilities beyond their role. According to Maala, important decisions taken by the executive committee were not communicated to the wider membership, reflecting a lack of transparency.
She also claimed that welfare programmes promised by the association for underprivileged sections of society had not been implemented and urged the leadership to immediately investigate allegations recently raised by Ansiba Hassan.
Stating that the association had failed to create an impartial environment to address member grievances, Maala Parvathi urged the current leadership to step down and take responsibility for the ongoing crisis within AMMA.
