Human–wildlife conflict, one of humanity’s oldest survival challenges, forms the central theme of ‘Lurk’, a film that examines why clashes between humans and wildlife continue even in the modern era.
Ahead of its theatrical release in July, the makers have unveiled the film’s promo song titled “Eyes on the Prey”. The film, which has already attracted attention at several film festivals across India, is written and directed by MA Nishad and presented by R. Harikumar under the banner of Kerala Talkies.
The developments, highlighted by Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 Radio Station, come as the film builds anticipation following its strong festival run and award recognitions.
The promo song has been created entirely using AI-based visuals, marking a technological highlight in the film’s promotional campaign. The track is sung by Jassie Gift, with lyrics by Jubin Jacob and music composed by Prakash Alex. Additional songs in the film are written by Manu Manjith, while Mineesh Thampan has also contributed to the music. The soundtrack is presented by Manorama Music.
Lurk has already received multiple accolades on the festival circuit. MA Nishad won Best Actor awards at film festivals in Ceylon and Karnataka, while veteran actor TG Ravi received the Best Supporting Actor award at the Madhya Pradesh Vindhya Film Festival. The film also earned recognition for Vipin Mannur (Best Editing) and Ganesh Marar (Best Sound Mixing). Actress Anumol’s performance as Lakshmi has been widely appreciated at various screenings.
At its core, the film poses a thought-provoking question: Who is mankind’s real enemy?
MA Nishad also plays a key role in the film, which features an ensemble cast including Saiju Kurup, Aju Varghese, Prashant Alexander, TG Ravi, Anumol, Manju Pillai, Saritha Kuku, Jafar Idukki, Sudheer Karamana, Prashant Murali, Biju Sopanam, Sohan Seenulal, Saji Soman, Vijay Menon, Kumar Sunil, Vinod Kedamangalam, Reju Shivadas, Biju Kasim, Firos Abdullah, Sminu Cijo, Muthumani, Bindu Pradeep, Ramya Panicker, Neetha Manoj and Sheeja Vakkapady.
The screenplay and dialogues are written by Jubin Jacob. Cinematography is handled by Rajeesh Raman, while editing is by Vipin Mannur. The technical team also includes Saji Kattakada (makeup), Irshad Cherukunnu (costume design), and Tyagu Thavanoor (art direction). Prakash Alex has composed the background score, with sound engineering by Jubin Raj and sound mixing by Ganesh Marar. S. Murugan serves as production controller, while AS Dinesh and Manu Shivan are the PROs.
Lurk will be released in theatres across Kerala by Man Media.
