Actor and former AMMA joint secretary Ansiba Hassan on Sunday recorded her statement at the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) office in connection with a complaint she has filed against AMMA vice-president Lakshmipriya and Sub Inspector Reshma of the Thripunithura Vanitha Police Station.
According to officials, the statement was recorded as part of the preliminary inquiry into the allegations raised in the complaint. The ACP office has also directed Lakshmipriya to appear before investigators on Monday for further questioning in the case.
The development marks a fresh escalation in the ongoing dispute involving Ansiba and office-bearers of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), which has been unfolding both within the organisation and before law enforcement authorities in recent weeks.
As reported on Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 Radio Station, the case has drawn attention due to the involvement of senior members of the film association and the nature of the allegations being examined by police.
In her complaint, Ansiba has alleged that AMMA vice-president Lakshmipriya, AMMA president Shwetha Menon and Sub Inspector Reshma conspired against her in what she described as an unlawful and distressing incident.
She has further claimed that she was unlawfully detained and that the complaint which triggered the incident was fabricated. These allegations are currently under preliminary examination by the police as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Officials confirmed that the matter remains at the stage of initial investigation, and further statements and evidence will be recorded before any conclusions are drawn.
The dispute continues to be closely watched within the Malayalam film industry as it involves key office-bearers of AMMA and raises serious internal and legal questions.
