Ahead of Eid Al Adha and in line with the objectives of the UAE’s “Year of Family,” the Community Development Authority (CDA) has launched a wide-ranging series of humanitarian and community initiatives aimed at supporting families, strengthening social stability and spreading festive joy across Dubai.
The initiatives are being implemented in collaboration with government departments, charitable organisations and private sector partners, reflecting Dubai’s continued commitment to social solidarity, generosity and community wellbeing.

As part of its Eid Al Adha outreach programme, the CDA rolled out the “Eidiya” initiative, benefiting more than 11,700 registered individuals and families across Dubai. The programme primarily supports families receiving financial assistance from the CDA, in addition to priority groups including minors and fishermen, ensuring that assistance reaches vulnerable members of society during the festive season.
Officials said the initiative reflects authentic Emirati values associated with Eid Al Adha while strengthening social protection systems for communities in need. The total value of the programme has reached Dh27.7 million, highlighting the scale of coordinated community support being delivered this year.
The initiative has been implemented in partnership with several organisations, including the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Union Coop, Dubai Land Department, Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society and Tarahum Charity Foundation.
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the CDA, said the initiatives embody the UAE’s values of compassion and solidarity. She noted that Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global model for humanitarian and social work through initiatives that place families and individuals at the centre of development priorities, in line with the goals of Dubai Social Agenda 33.
As part of the programme, fishermen received prepaid support cards from Union Coop to help meet essential needs during Eid. The CDA also organised a co-design session with fishermen to better understand their challenges and improve future support programmes through more sustainable and responsive solutions.
In an additional boost to community support efforts, Beit Al Khair Society, in collaboration with the “Jood” platform, contributed Dh5 million to the Community Development Fund to strengthen long-term support systems for families and vulnerable groups.
The CDA also partnered with the UAE Food Bank under Dubai Municipality to distribute 250 fruit baskets as part of Eid outreach activities. The initiative benefited 65 participants from the “Waleef” programme and 185 senior citizens at the Al Barsha Majlis, with baskets delivered directly to beneficiaries’ homes to ensure convenience and accessibility.
Officials said the initiatives reaffirm Dubai’s commitment to sustainable social development, humanitarian partnerships and inclusive community wellbeing. By supporting families, senior citizens, fishermen and other priority groups, the programmes aim to further strengthen social cohesion and reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a leading global model in social welfare and community support.
