The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again extended the deadline for students seeking scanned copies of their evaluated Class 12 board examination answer books. The revised deadline is now set for May 25 midnight.
The board had initially extended the deadline from May 22 to May 23, followed by another extension till May 24. The latest extension comes amid complaints from students and parents regarding technical difficulties in accessing scanned copies through the online portal.
In an official circular, the CBSE stated that the extension was granted to provide students with adequate time to submit their requests for scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets. The board also clarified that all other terms and conditions related to the facility remain unchanged.

The CBSE further informed students that the schedule for accepting re-evaluation requests will be announced soon. The re-evaluation and verification process had been initiated following concerns raised by several students and parents over the On-Screen Marking system used for this year’s examinations.
Meanwhile, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held discussions with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman seeking support to strengthen the CBSE’s payment gateway system after widespread complaints about technical glitches.
According to the Education Ministry, four public sector banks — State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank and Indian Bank — will assist CBSE in improving its payment gateway infrastructure and integrating it more effectively with the post-examination portal.
The Education Minister has also directed expert teams from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur to examine the technical problems reported during the rollout of the re-evaluation services and help ensure a smoother and glitch-free process for students.
Reports indicate that Dharmendra Pradhan has sought a detailed explanation from CBSE regarding server downtime, payment gateway failures and operational lapses faced during the re-evaluation process. Officials concerned have reportedly been asked to clarify the reasons behind the disruptions, the preparedness measures taken and the accountability of agencies involved in managing the system.
