The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has decided to constitute a five-member committee to examine a series of complaints and counter-complaints involving several members of its executive body, amid growing tensions within the organisation.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, AMMA president Shwetha Menon said the organisation has a responsibility to hear all parties involved and ensure that every complaint is addressed fairly. She announced that a five-member panel would be formed to review the allegations and submit its findings.
According to Shwetha Menon, the committee will include the AMMA president and general secretary, while the remaining members will be selected at a later stage. The panel is expected to hear all sides before making recommendations on the matters under dispute.
The move comes amid escalating disagreements involving actor and former joint secretary Ansiba Hassan, executive committee members Tiny Tom and Neena Kurup, as well as AMMA vice-president Lakshmipriya.
At the centre of the controversy are allegations made by Ansiba Hassan against Tiny Tom. In a complaint submitted to AMMA, Ansiba alleged that Tiny Tom referred to her as a “jihadi” and accused her of carrying out religious conversion activities within the organisation. She further claimed that she had been subjected to repeated harassment through defamatory, misogynistic, and communally charged remarks.
In addition to her complaint before AMMA, Ansiba has reportedly filed a complaint with the police, alleging that such remarks were repeatedly directed at her.

The dispute has widened with actor Neena Kurup also filing a complaint against Tiny Tom before AMMA’s executive committee. In her submission, she alleged that Tiny Tom attempted to physically assault her during an altercation and used abusive language.
Meanwhile, the controversy has revived an earlier disagreement involving AMMA vice-president Lakshmipriya. Recently, she revealed that she had filed a complaint against Ansiba Hassan at a women’s police station in Thripunithura. Ansiba has denied the allegations, describing the complaint as fabricated.
Ansiba also alleged that she faced harassment during the investigation process and raised concerns regarding the conduct of a police officer involved in the case. Subsequently, she submitted a separate complaint to state authorities against certain AMMA executive committee members as well as the police officer concerned, alleging misconduct. The matter is currently under investigation.
With multiple complaints now before the organisation and law enforcement authorities, AMMA’s newly proposed committee is expected to play a key role in examining the allegations, hearing all parties involved, and helping the association address the ongoing disputes through an internal review process.
