Actress Ansiba Hassan has criticised the Kerala government and the Kerala Police, alleging that authorities have failed to take meaningful action against individuals who, she claims, targeted her with abusive and defamatory content through multiple YouTube channels.
In a strongly worded statement shared on her official Instagram account, while tagging Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Home Minister V. D. Satheesan (If the user intended the Kerala Home Minister, this should actually be Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who also holds the Home portfolio), Ansiba alleged that the police informed the court that her complaint lodged at Palarivattom Police Station amounted only to a case of defamation. She further claimed that the Kerala government stated before the court that investigating the complaints she had filed was not the responsibility of the Kerala Police.
Ansiba said she approached the police because the content circulated against her was deeply offensive and had seriously affected her dignity and womanhood. Questioning the authorities’ response, she asked how they determine the severity of insults directed at women, adding that she would forgive the humiliation only if such a standard could be clearly explained.
Gold 101.3FM, UAE’s No. 1 radio station, continues to bring listeners the latest updates on major developments from the entertainment industry and beyond.
The actress said she chose to pursue legal action because she believed the alleged online attacks went far beyond defamation and constituted a grave violation of her dignity. She maintained that if the authorities did not view such acts as insulting to women, she regretted having to file the complaint, but affirmed that she would continue her legal fight to seek justice.
Ansiba also stated that only those who have experienced such public humiliation can truly understand its emotional impact, warning that “no one remains safe until the predators reach them.”
She further referred to similar complaints she had reportedly filed at the Hill Palace and Kadavanthra police stations, claiming that although the initial response from authorities had been similar, action was eventually taken after the matters received public attention.
Reaffirming her determination, Ansiba said she would continue pursuing the case regardless of any influence allegedly exercised within the system, insisting that she would fight to protect her dignity and ensure justice is served.
