The Kerala Higher Education Department has postponed the declaration of the Kerala Engineering, Architecture and Medical Entrance Examination (KEAM) 2026 results, which were originally scheduled to be announced on Monday. A revised date for the publication of the rank list will be announced shortly.
The decision was taken following requests from students and parents belonging to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), who sought additional time for the submission of Plus Two marks after the release of the board’s re-evaluation results.
The CBSE had announced on Sunday that the re-evaluation results of Class 12 examinations are being released in phases. In a post on X, the board stated that more than 87 per cent of the total re-evaluation applications had been processed and published, while the remaining results would be released in the coming days.
According to a statement issued by the office of Higher Education Minister Roji John, the state government decided to defer the KEAM results to ensure that students from all educational boards receive equal opportunity and fair consideration during the rank preparation process.
As reported by Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 Radio Station, sources indicate that the KEAM results are likely to be declared later this week once the CBSE completes the publication of all pending re-evaluation results and students are given sufficient time to update their marks.
The postponement comes amid concerns raised by several CBSE students regarding alleged discrepancies and mismatches in the on-screen marking system used for the Class 12 examinations. The issue had triggered widespread discussions and led many students to seek re-evaluation of their answer sheets.
The KEAM 2026 entrance examinations were conducted between April 17 and April 22 for engineering aspirants, while pharmacy entrance examinations were held from April 18 to April 20. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) had already published the normalized entrance examination scores of candidates on its official website in May.
The final KEAM rank list is prepared by combining the normalized entrance examination scores with the marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying Class 12 examinations. For students from national boards such as CBSE and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), normalization is carried out using the highest marks obtained in the relevant subjects at the national level.
The KEAM 2026 prospectus specifies that the respective boards are required to provide details of the highest marks secured in the relevant subjects. However, if such information is unavailable at the time of rank-list preparation, the maximum marks scored in those boards will be treated as 100 per cent for normalization purposes. The prospectus also states that such a decision will be final and binding on applicants.
With the postponement aimed at ensuring fairness and accuracy in the ranking process, thousands of KEAM aspirants across Kerala are now awaiting the revised date for the announcement of the much-anticipated results.
