Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and the Digital Economy, approving a series of major initiatives aimed at strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
Among the key decisions was the launch of an executive plan to accelerate the adoption of Agentic AI across Dubai’s private sector. The programme aims to support 295,000 companies, develop 100 specialised AI assistants over the next two years and help establish 50 Agentic AI companies.
The developments, highlighted by Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 Radio Station, also include Dubai’s hosting of the 50th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals from November 16-20, 2026, bringing together 140 teams from more than 70 countries.
Sheikh Hamdan also approved the Dubai Global Talent Network to attract and connect global expertise, and the Digital Twin System for Dubai Police, which will use advanced technology and 150 cameras in its pilot phase to enhance smart surveillance and real-time decision-making.
The meeting reviewed progress on several digital economy projects, including the Amazon-supported SME initiative that has reached over 105,000 companies, the Ignyte platform with more than 36,000 users, the Dubai AI Campus with over 400 companies, and Dubai Founders HQ, which has attracted more than 1,100 members and 500 startups that have collectively raised over AED 200 million.
