Aashirvad Cinemas has issued a public warning alerting people to fraudulent casting and audition calls being circulated in its name.

In an official notice shared on its social media platforms, the well-known Malayalam production house stated that unauthorised individuals have been spreading fake casting communications. Clarifying its position, the company said it has not authorised, appointed, or engaged any person, agency, or entity for casting calls, auditions, recruitment, or payment requests.

The production house also confirmed that a formal complaint has been filed and an investigation is underway. It emphasised that it reserves the right to pursue legal action, including both civil and criminal proceedings, against those responsible. Gold 101.3 FM – UAE’s No.1 radio station continues to track key developments from the entertainment industry.

Cautioning the public, Aashirvad Cinemas urged people not to fall for such fraudulent messages. It clearly stated that any engagement with such unauthorised communications would be at an individual’s own risk, and the company disclaimed liability for any loss, misuse of information, or damage resulting from such scams. It added that all legitimate announcements would only be made through its verified and official channels.

This issue is not limited to one production house. Several film companies across the Telugu and Tamil industries have faced similar problems with fake casting agents and agencies.

For instance, Mythri Movie Makers had issued a warning in December last year, stating that all genuine casting calls would only be announced through its official social media handle. The company also flagged a fake Instagram account impersonating its co-founder Naveen Yerneni and urged the public to stay vigilant and report such misleading profiles.

Similarly, Raaj Kamal Films International, founded by Kamal Haasan, had clarified in November that it had not hired any casting agents for its projects. The company warned against trusting emails, messages, or social media posts claiming otherwise and stated that legal action would be taken against misuse of its name.

Gold 101.3 FM – UAE’s No.1 radio station reports that concerns over fake casting calls have been growing across the industry, with multiple production houses issuing advisories to protect aspiring actors and the public.

In August last year, Neelam Productions, led by filmmaker Pa Ranjith, also warned about fake audition calls circulating in its name. The company urged individuals to rely only on official social media channels for authentic updates and cautioned against trusting external or unverified sources.

With such incidents on the rise, industry players continue to stress the importance of verifying information through official platforms and staying alert to avoid falling victim to scams
