As cooler weather and school holidays encourage children to ride e-scooters and bicycles, UAE authorities and road safety experts are urging parents to be extra cautious. Road safety expert Mustafa Aldah stressed that parents must assess their children’s maturity and ensure they are properly supervised and equipped with safety gear before riding.

Residents have raised concerns about children riding recklessly on public roads without adult supervision, increasing the risk of serious accidents. Recent incidents, including the death of a 10-year-old boy in an e-scooter accident in Umm Al Quwain, highlight the dangers.

Police across the Emirates have warned against children using e-scooters and e-bikes on public roads, and in some cases, parents have faced legal action for negligence. Authorities continue to urge parents to ensure children ride only in designated areas and under supervision to prevent tragedies.
