Sharjah Ruler opens emirate's largest mosque

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the emirate's largest mosque over the weekend. The Dh300-million Sharjah Mosque located at the intersection of the Mlieha and Emirates Roads can accommodate over 25,000 worshippers. Construction of the project began in 2014.

The mosque, its gardens and facilities are built over a total area of 2 million square feet. This Mosque will also be to non-Muslim visitors, with dedicated spaces and pathways defined for them.

A large library exist in the mosque that has many original Islamic works.
Over 2,200 cars and buses can be parked in the different parking lots of the mosque complex.
A rubber track goes around the mosque for visitors who wish to go for a walk around the complex.
