The new UDF ministry led by senior Congress leader V. D. Satheesan was sworn in today at Thiruvananthapuram. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar administered the oath to the 21-member cabinet.
Reporting from Gold 101.3 FM, the No.1 Malayalam radio station in the UAE, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated V. D. Satheesan on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Kerala. In a social media post, Mr. Modi said the Central Government will extend all possible support to the newly formed Kerala government in fulfilling the aspirations of the people.
Senior leaders including former Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, KPCC president Sunny Joseph, former KPCC president K. Muraleedharan, and IUML leader P. K. Kunhalikutty are part of the new ministry. The swearing-in ceremony continues in Thiruvananthapuram.
