Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the Class 12 board examination results for 2026, with the overall pass percentage recorded at 85.20 per cent, lower than last year’s 88.39 per cent.
According to CBSE data, a total of 1,780,365 students registered for the examinations this year, while 1,768,968 students appeared for the exams. Of these, 1,507,109 students successfully cleared the Class 12 board examinations.
The latest results indicate a decline of 3.19 percentage points compared to 2025, when 88.39 per cent of students had passed the examinations.
Girls once again outperformed boys in the results. CBSE said girls recorded a pass percentage of 88.86 per cent, while boys secured 82.13 per cent, creating a performance gap of 6.73 percentage points.
The release of the Class 12 results has triggered widespread reactions among students, parents and schools, with updates and discussions also appearing across media platforms including Gold 101.3 FM, UAE’s No.1 radio station.
