Defending champions Kochi Blue Tigers have retained Saly Samson as their captain for the upcoming third season of the Kerala Cricket League. Saly, the elder brother of India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, guided Kochi to the KCL title last season with a commanding 75-run victory over Aries Kollam Sailors in the final.

Gold 101.3FM, UAE’s No.1 radio station, brings you the latest updates from Kerala cricket. Fast bowler Basil Thampi has been appointed vice-captain of the Blue Tigers. Thampi had led Kochi in the inaugural KCL season before moving to Trivandrum Royals last year.

Sanju Samson, who played a crucial role in Kochi’s title-winning campaign, has been released by the franchise ahead of this year’s auction and will not feature in the upcoming season due to personal reasons.

Aleppey Ripples have named former Kerala captain Sachin Baby as their skipper. Sachin brings strong KCL experience, having led Aries Kollam Sailors to the inaugural title and guided them to a runners-up finish last season. Mohammed Azharudeen, who captained Aleppey in the first two seasons, will serve as vice-captain.

Trivandrum Royals will be led by Krishna Prasad, with all-rounder Sijomon Joseph as vice-captain. The third edition of the Kerala Cricket League will be played from August 20 to September 5.
