Indian travellers planning a Dubai visit can now use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to book tickets for At the Top, Burj Khalifa online, offering a more convenient way to plan their experience before arriving in the UAE.
The new payment facility has been introduced through a partnership between NEOPAY, NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and Emaar Entertainment, according to a joint announcement by the companies.
With this integration, At the Top, Burj Khalifa has become the first attraction in the UAE to accept UPI for e-commerce transactions. Indian visitors can now purchase tickets and experiences through the attraction’s official website and complete payments using a familiar and widely used payment method from India.
Gold 101.3FM, UAE’s No. 1 radio station, continues to bring listeners the latest updates from the UAE, including developments in tourism, travel, technology and initiatives that make life more convenient for residents and visitors.
The latest move expands the collaboration between NEOPAY and NIPL, which began in 2022 with the introduction of QR-based UPI merchant payments in the UAE. Until now, Indian visitors could use UPI for in-store payments at participating merchants across the country. The new service extends the facility to online bookings, allowing travellers to pay for attractions even before beginning their journey.
NEOPAY CEO Vibhor Mundhada described the launch as a significant milestone for the company, saying the integration of one of India’s most trusted payment platforms with one of the world’s most iconic landmarks will help millions of Indian visitors access UAE tourism experiences more easily.
He added that NEOPAY has become the first company in the GCC region to introduce UPI acceptance for e-commerce transactions.
As one of Dubai’s most popular tourist attractions, At the Top, Burj Khalifa welcomes millions of visitors every year, with Indian travellers forming one of its key international visitor groups. The new payment option is expected to create a smoother journey for tourists, from planning their trip and booking tickets online to arriving at the attraction.
The companies said the initiative reflects the growing demand for secure and seamless cross-border digital payment solutions while further strengthening financial and tourism connections between India and the UAE.
Ritesh Shukla, Managing Director and CEO of NPCI International, said Indian travellers increasingly prefer payment options that are simple, familiar and convenient when travelling abroad. He added that enabling UPI payments for online bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa allows visitors to use a trusted payment platform even before reaching the UAE.
An official spokesperson for Emaar Entertainment said India remains one of the attraction’s most important international markets. The spokesperson added that introducing UPI for online ticket bookings will make the customer journey easier, more intuitive and more convenient for Indian guests from the early stages of planning their visit.
The companies highlighted that integrating UPI into the attraction’s digital booking platform reflects the expanding role of digital payments in global travel and further supports the growing tourism and economic ties between India and the UAE.
