Motorists travelling across Dubai and Sharjah faced slower-than-usual journeys on Wednesday morning as heavy congestion built up on several major roads during the peak commuting hours.
According to the latest traffic updates, slow-moving vehicles and traffic delays were reported at multiple locations across both emirates, resulting in longer travel times for commuters heading to work and school.
In Dubai, traffic was moving slowly on Ras Al Khor Road near Business Bay, while congestion was also reported on Sheikh Rashid Road in the vicinity of Dubai Frame. Additional delays were recorded on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road, Damascus Street, and Al Ittihad Road towards Dubai near Al Mulla Plaza, where motorists experienced heavy traffic during the morning rush.
Meanwhile, in Sharjah, significant congestion was reported on Al Wahda Street towards Dubai, one of the busiest routes for daily commuters between the two emirates. Heavy traffic was also observed on Third Industrial Street and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road near the National Paints Headquarters. Slow-moving traffic was further reported on Emirates Road near Sharjah Grand Masjid, adding to delays for motorists travelling towards Dubai.
