Gold 101.3 FM has received a detailed weather report from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), confirming that the UAE is set for noticeably cooler nights and a chance of light rain as the country comes under the influence of the Siberian high this month.
According to the NCM, temperatures across the country are expected to drop by around six degrees compared with November, with inland and mountainous areas experiencing the most significant cooling.
Today’s weather is partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with low clouds forming over the islands and parts of the western region. Light rain may develop overnight and continue into Friday morning. Increased humidity late tonight and early tomorrow could lead to fog or light fog in internal areas. Winds will be light to moderate, ranging from south-east to north-west at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, reaching up to 30 km/h.
The report also highlights that December marks the end of the autumn season, with winter beginning astronomically on December 23. Historically, temperatures during December drop by three to six degrees, accompanied by higher humidity levels as cooler air masses move across Gulf waters.
The NCM report received by Gold 101.3 FM indicates a humid start to Friday, with fog or light fog expected over inland areas. The western region will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with a chance of light rain, particularly over islands and western coastal areas. Winds will shift between south-east and north-east, remaining light to moderate. Seas will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
