The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened two new bridges as part of the Trade Centre Roundabout development project, reducing travel time from 10 minutes to just two minutes. The bridges serve traffic moving from 2nd December Street towards Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Majlis Street and were opened ahead of the planned mid-January schedule.

According to Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of RTA, construction is progressing faster than approved timelines, with overall project completion nearing 50 per cent. Another bridge linking Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street is set to open in March, while two additional bridges serving traffic towards 2nd December Street are scheduled for October 2026.

Once fully completed, the project will cut average delays at the intersection from 12 minutes to 90 seconds and significantly improve traffic flow across one of Dubai’s busiest junctions. The wider development, scheduled for completion in 2027, will benefit more than half a million residents and visitors and forms part of Dubai’s broader road infrastructure upgrade plan.
