Here's a first look at Dubai’s driverless taxis

Dubai launches tests of the world’s first ‘Autonomous Pods’.

The Dubai and Transport Authority has finally started the testing of the world’s first driverless taxis.

The taxis have a capacity to carry up to ten passengers per pod which are designed to travel shortly to medium distances.

The system is designed in such a way that the pods can be coupled together depending on the destination of drivers.

Once attached, travelers will be able to freely move between the pods and can also access free WiFi.

The taxis have a battery fitted, supporting three hours of operation and taking six hours to charge. The average speed is 20 KM per hour.

The launch date of the world’s first driverless taxis is not confirmed yet.
